Meetingsand workshops

We encourage participants to submit proposals on the meetings, thematic round tables, and workshops on research, conservation and management of marine mammal populations. 

To reserve a room at the meetings, please specify the following information in your application:

  • topic
  • moderator’s name and contact information
  • expected number of participants
  • date and time of the beginning and end of the event.

Please send proposals to the Organizing Committee by e-mail: holarctic2020@gmail.com. The proposal submission deadline is November 30, 2020.

Abstracts and extended materials

After registration, the Conference participants may submit abstracts and extended materials to be included in the Program and the Book of Abstracts which will be published prior to the Conference. The extended materials in a form of full scientific article or short notes will be published after the conference in the Collection of Conference Papers in the capacity and format of previous conferences in Russian and English with ISBN registration. Upon arrival at the Conference each participant will receive a Conference Program and a Book of Abstracts. The Collection of Conference Papers will be published and distributed electronically after the Conference.

Submission of abstracts and materials is carried out only in electronic form through the Conference website. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to reject submitted abstracts and materials, if they are non-informative, do not correspond to the topics of the conference, or are not submitted in accordance with provided Guidelines. Publication of abstracts is possible only if the registration fee is paid in full by November 30, 2020.
Abstracts submitted by November 30, 2020, formatted in accordance with the Guidelines, and accepted by the Organizing Committee, will be included in the Book of Abstracts.

Extended Materials and short notes prepared and submitted in accordance with provided Guidelines, accepted by the Organizing Committee and not requiring significant revision or editing, will be included into the 1st volume of the Collection of Conference Papers, the electronic version of which is planned to be published in early 2021. Materials requiring substantial revision and/or editing will be included in the 2nd volume of the Collection of Conference Papers, an electronic version of which is planned to be published in the second half of 2021. For an additional fee, a registered participant may receive a hard copy of the Collection of Scientific Papers. If you wish to receive a hard copy, please check the box in the Registration Form.

Registration fee

Registration starts on April 15, 2020. For registration, please, fill out the registration form and pay the registration fee. The registration fee covers the costs of registration, the Program, Book of Abstracts, ice-breaker, and coffee breaks. Registration fees should be paid through the official conference service agency website. Monomax PCO also helps participants with the hotel reservation, visa support, and cultural program.


Conference Rates Registration fee
Early bird: April 15 – May 31 250 Euro
Regular: June 1 –December 31 300 Euro
Late and on-site: after December 31        350 Euro
Guest registration*: April 15 to the beginning of the conference 100 Euro

* Those who wish to participate in the conference without presentation, abstract or extended material publication.

In case of cancellation the registration fee may be refunded if the Organizing Committee is notified via email holarctic2020@gmail.com no later than December 31, 2020. All bank processing fees will be subtracted from the amount paid. No refund is possible after November 30, 2020.

Cancellation terms:
- for cancellations received from date of payment toDecember 31, 2020 (till 24:00) fee of 15% is charged for all payment terms
- after January 1st, 2020- registration fee is non-refundable.
Bank fees must be covered by the participant:
- about $80 (depending on the current exchange rate) of fee If you pay by bank transfer in foreign currency;
the exact amount will be reported by congress manager
- 5% of sum (UCS and ASSIST company fees) If you pay by credit card
